1. Purpose and scope

Expert Connect operates a technology marketplace that connects clients with independent professionals for paid consultations. We provide the platform for discovery, scheduling, payments, recording and transcription where enabled, and related trust-and-safety and support functions. We are not a staffing agency, employer of record, broker, investigator, or research publisher.

This Code of Conduct states the operating principles Expert Connect applies to its business and expects from its employees, contractors, users, vendors, and business partners. It is intended to complement the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which contain the operative rules governing platform use, payments, confidentiality, data practices, disputes, and related matters. If there is any inconsistency between this Code and the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy control.

2. Customer trust principles

2.1 Consultation content, client-specific access, and AI use

Expert Connect may record and transcribe consultations and may use consultation content internally as described in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. At present, Expert Connect's operational use of consultation content is limited to recording, transcription, secure storage, client-specific access, and dispute and trust-and-safety review.

Expert Connect may make recordings, transcripts, and related consultation records available to the client account or client organization that booked the consultation and its authorized users. Expert Connect does not make a cross-client transcript library available, does not disclose one client's identifiable consultation content to unrelated clients through customer-facing features, and does not sell, license, or repackage consultation content as a research product.

If Expert Connect later introduces additional consultation-content processing, including summaries, embeddings, classifications, or internal model training, it will do so as described in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and will update those disclosures before such processing is deployed.

2.2 Personal information

Expert Connect does not sell personal information. We disclose personal information to service providers and other recipients only as described in the Privacy Policy and only as needed to operate the platform, support consultations, process payments, maintain security, and comply with law.

2.3 Transparent, on-platform commerce

Consultations initiated through Expert Connect are expected to be booked and paid for through Expert Connect. Off-platform payment arrangements undermine marketplace integrity, impair dispute handling, and create avoidable compliance and trust-and-safety risk.

2.4 Accurate description of our service

We aim to describe the platform and its features accurately. We do not represent that a feature exists unless it is actually part of the service. Where the platform offers recording, transcription, transcript access, AI-assisted search, summaries, or similar functionality, those features are governed by the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

3. Compliance and fair dealing

Expert Connect conducts its business in accordance with applicable law and expects the same of its employees, contractors, users, vendors, and business partners. We compete fairly and do not knowingly engage in deceptive marketing, misrepresentation of platform capabilities, or misrepresentation of user qualifications or status.

Users must not use the platform to request, share, or exploit confidential information, material non-public information, or information whose disclosure or use would violate contractual, fiduciary, employment, or legal obligations. The operative restrictions applicable to consultations and platform use are set out in the Terms of Service.

4. Anti-corruption, improper payments, and sanctions compliance

Expert Connect prohibits bribery, corruption, kickbacks, and other improper payments in any form. No one acting through or on behalf of Expert Connect may offer, give, request, or accept anything of value to influence a business decision improperly.

Undisclosed referral fees, side payments, and off-platform compensation arrangements relating to platform engagements are prohibited. Users and counterparties must not use the platform in violation of applicable anti-corruption laws, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 78dd-1 to -3, and the U.K. Bribery Act 2010, where applicable, or in violation of applicable sanctions, export-control, or similar laws.

5. Conflicts of interest

Expert Connect personnel must avoid conflicts between personal interests and their responsibilities to the company. Outside business activities, board roles, financial interests, family relationships, or other circumstances that could reasonably impair objective judgment should be disclosed internally and managed appropriately, including by recusal where necessary.

Vendors and business partners are expected to disclose relationships or interests that could reasonably affect their ability to deal with Expert Connect at arm's length.

6. Professional conduct, non-discrimination, and anti-harassment

Expert Connect expects respectful, professional conduct in all workplace interactions and platform-related dealings. Harassment, intimidation, threats, slurs, sexual misconduct, and abusive behavior are prohibited.

Expert Connect does not discriminate in its operations on the basis of any characteristic protected by applicable law. This expectation applies to hiring, contracting, vendor management, expert onboarding, platform participation, and the provision of services through the platform.

Platform misuse, including abusive communications, harassment, identity misrepresentation, and similar conduct, may result in suspension or removal under the Terms of Service.

7. Privacy and data protection

Expert Connect handles personal information for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy and seeks to collect, use, retain, and protect that information in a manner proportionate to the operation of the platform.

The Privacy Policy contains the operative detail on categories of data collected, consultation recordings and transcripts, client-specific access, service-provider disclosures, retention practices, AI-related processing, cookies and similar technologies, and jurisdiction-specific rights. This Code does not expand those disclosures.

8. Human rights and labor standards

Expert Connect does not tolerate forced labor, human trafficking, or child labor in its operations or in the business relationships it controls. The platform is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older.

We expect vendors and business partners to maintain lawful and ethical labor practices and to refrain from retaliation against individuals who raise good-faith concerns about unlawful or unethical conduct.

9. Marketplace status and independent experts

Experts who participate in consultations through Expert Connect are independent providers and not employees of Expert Connect. Experts decide whether to create a profile, what rates to set, what availability to offer, and which requests to accept.

Experts are responsible for their own taxes, their relationship with any current or former employer, and their own compliance with confidentiality, fiduciary, securities-law, and other legal obligations. Tax reporting associated with platform payouts will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the platform's payment-provider configuration.

10. Reporting concerns and non-retaliation

Concerns about suspected violations of this Code may be submitted to compliance@expert-connect.co. Concerns relating to booking issues, no-shows, disputes, or user misconduct may also be raised through support channels or any reporting tools made available on the platform.

Expert Connect will review credible reports promptly and handle them as confidentially as practicable under the circumstances. Retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, supports an investigation, or declines to participate in conduct the person reasonably believes is unlawful or contrary to this Code is prohibited.

11. Updates and related documents

This Code may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be dated and reflected in the version number.

For users of the platform, the related operative documents are the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Vendors and business partners may also be subject to parallel requirements in their agreements with Expert Connect.

Questions about this Code may be directed to compliance@expert-connect.co.
